Northern Pressure Treated Wood poles are pressure treated with Chromated Copper Arsenate (CCA-C), a water-based solution of high-purity oxides. A climbability additive is also available to facilitate gaff penetration. In the fixation process after treatment, the CCA preservative becomes bonded with the wood, where it remains for decades to protect the pole against fungal decay and termite attack.
